Virginians who are found potentially eligible for Medicaid will have their application transferred to the Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) for a full eligibility determination, and enrollment, if applicable. In this case, you do not need to apply for Medicaid again at the Department of Medical Assistance Services.
After a Medicaid eligibility determination is made, the individual will receive an eligibility notice.
If the individual is determined ineligible for Medicaid, the application may be sent back to Virginia's Insurance Marketplace. If your application is returned to the marketplace, you may come back to the Marketplace, confirm your application, and select a Marketplace plan.
