If your eligibility notice indicates that you have conditional eligibility due to Non-ESI Minimum Essential Coverage, it means that the exchange found evidence that you have or had healthcare coverage from an organization other than an employer, for example the military, Medicaid, or Medicare.
Because data from these organizations can get out of date or the coverage might not meet the criteria of minimum essential coverage, the exchange gives you an opportunity to submit documentation to explain the situation. You have 90 days to submit this documentation. In the meantime, you can select a plan and enroll. If you do not submit the documentation within the 90 day period, your coverage or subsidy may be terminated.
