Migrant workers who have an H-2A visa status are eligible to enroll in coverage through Virginia's Insurance Marketplace. To qualify for Virginia's Insurance Marketplace, your primary residence must be in Virginia. Health insurance coverage with Virginia's Insurance Marketplace can help pay for your health needs such as illnesses and injuries while you are away from home and working seasonally in Virginia.
As a migrant worker, if you move residences frequently for your job within Virginia, you can still be eligible to enroll in Virginia's Insurance Marketplace. You will need to update your Virginia's Insurance Marketplace account information each time you move home residences to ensure you’re receiving the correct eligibility for financial assistance. Your health insurance monthly premium rate may change based on your home address location.
To show your eligibility for Virginia's Insurance Marketplace, you will be asked to upload a picture or scanned copy in your Virginia's Insurance Marketplace application portal of one of your immigration documents showing your visa code. For example, you may upload a picture or copy of the US Visa immigration page in your passport with entrance code H-2A for migrant workers.
